Inflation Reduction Act   45L Tax Credits

The Inflation Reduction Act offers a tax incentive for designing and constructing ENERGY STAR dwelling units. For single-family homes and townhomes, this credit can be as much as $2,500. Multi-family projects qualify for $500 per dwelling unit if prevailing wages are not paid, and up to $2,500 per unit if they are.

The purpose of this credit is to promote better building practices, lower carbon emissions, and reduce energy consumption by making necessary upgrades more affordable for builders. It seeks to reduce residential energy costs by focusing on improvements to home energy efficiency.
